Contrary to the scene of workers queuing for hours at industrial parks waiting to withdraw bonuses on the days leading up to Tet in previous years, this year’s workers did not take long to withdraw money.

In previous years, the bank’s automatic teller machines (ATMs) located in industrial parks were always packed with people, especially on the days of receiving salaries and bonuses. Most payments to employees are transferred to a bank account. Many workers even had to wait for hours, then sadly left because the ATM ran out of money. However, this year the atmosphere is somewhat changed.

On the followingnoon of January 14, (23 New Year’s Eve), as noted by People at Thang Long Industrial Park (Dong Anh, Hanoi), only a few people withdraw money. A row of ATMs of banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, Techcombank, Agribank are lined up next to each other, but there are no crowds of people queuing, and there are no ATMs to withdraw money.

On the morning of January 19 (Tet 28), also at the same location, only a few workers withdrew money. Mr. Thanh, a motorbike taxi driver specializing in catching customers in the ATM area here, said that this year there was no jostling in line to withdraw money like every year.

Mr. Thanh informed that a few days ago, some companies gave out bonuses, workers also had time to focus on withdrawing large amounts of money, some ATMs ran out of money but later were added. By the next day, everyone was back to normal, there was no jostling like many years before the epidemic.

At VSIP Industrial Park (Tu Son, Bac Ninh), as noted by PeopleAt the ATM of Vietcombank, there are still workers queuing to withdraw money. However, there is no jostling scene where everyone waits for their turn to withdraw, only waiting for less than 10 minutes to withdraw money.

And at Dai Dong – Hoan Son Industrial Park (Tien Du, Bac Ninh), 2 ATMs of VietinBank and Sacombank also only had a few workers to withdraw money. Banks have security arrangements, but they only stand and watch for customers to queue themselves, there is no rush to withdraw money.

Quynh Ngoc, working at a factory specializing in assembling electronic devices in Japan, said he received a salary bonus and Tet bonus three days ago. Mr. Ngoc withdrew money to bring back to his parents in his hometown.

In the 4th year Mr. Ngoc worked here, he said: “Before, when there was no Covid-19 epidemic, the cash machines were very crowded, but now there are few people, so it is easier for me to withdraw money. Now there are ATMs everywhere, When the brothers told each other to go back to their hometown, they withdrew, sometimes it is not good to withdraw here later on the way back home.”

Ms. Ngoc Anh, working at a factory specializing in the production of electroplating electronic components, cars and motorbikes in Korea, said that she went to ATMs to withdraw money, but only partially withdrew to buy some furniture for herself. relatives before going back to their hometown in Ninh Binh this followingnoon.

“I still keep the money so I can go back to my hometown to buy a gold thread for my parents. The gold shop in my hometown also accepts wire transfers, so I don’t need to withdraw all the money,” she said.
