“Unasur Resurrected: Petro Proposes Name Change for South American Nations Association”

Petro wrote on his social networks that he has asked to change the name of the group to the Association of South American Nations, with the aim of “guaranteeing pluralism and permanence over time.”

The announcement was made following the end of the Meeting of Presidents of South America in the Brazilian capital, which was also attended by the Colombian president along with 10 other heads of state. On behalf of Peru, Dina Boluarte might not attend due to internal legal problems, but representing her was her president of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola.
