This is not a merger. And it’s not a pre-fusion either. Annick Castiaux, rector of UNamur, and Vincent Blondel, rector of UCLouvain, are categorical: the major agreement they signed Thursday morning has nothing to do with the merger-absorption process characterizing recent integration of Saint-Louis in UCLouvain. In fact, it is a question of alliance here. The one that evokes a coalition of interests in an academic world where you have to be big to have influence.
