“Unacceptable” .. Zelensky criticizes the delay of the sixth European sanctions package!

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday welcomed the sixth package of European Union sanctions once morest Russia, but criticized what he called an “unacceptable” delay in EU countries agreeing on his latest measures.

“When more than 50 days pass between the fifth and sixth sanctions packages, (this) is an unacceptable situation on our part,” Zelensky said in Kyiv, alongside Slovak President Zuzana Jabotova.

It is noteworthy that the German authorities froze 143 million euros of the funds of Russian businessmen on German soil.

This amount is much larger compared to the amount that was frozen in Germany at the end of last February, days following the outbreak of the war, which amounted to only 342,000 euros.

For her part, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, today, Tuesday, blamed Russia for the food crisis in the world, stressing that member states will work together to strengthen defense once morest “Russian aggression”, ensure energy supplies and confront the food crisis.

“In the face of Russia’s aggressive war once morest Ukraine, EU member states are coming together to strengthen defense, ensure reliable and sustainable energy supplies, and mobilize to confront the emerging global food crisis,” she added on Twitter.

The President of the European Commission also said that the imposition of sanctions on the financial sector in Russia should be considered.

She stressed that European sanctions do not affect food products.
