SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance condemns the “provocative”, as it characterizes, announcement of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressing that it “directly challenges Greek sovereignty over the Aegean islands”.
According to SYRIZA – PS, “this unacceptable announcement once more violates the spirit and letter of the Declaration of Athens and follows the constant Turkish tactic of selective interpretation of international treaties and international law and undermines the promotion of Greek-Turkish relations”.
According to the official opposition party, “following the doctrine of downgrading the Turkish challenges, the government continues its communicative, micropolitical management of the Greek-Turkish people, as can be seen from the almost apologetic announcement – response of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Turkish side”.
