“Zelensky is XXX.”

At a Security Council meeting held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the 22nd (local time), Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov showed abusive language while justifying his country’s invasion of Ukraine. According to the Associated Press, Lavrov, who appeared late at a Security Council meeting attended by foreign ministers of 15 countries, left hastily following 20 minutes of harsh remarks that even mobilized abusive language.

Lavrov handed over the responsibility for the war in Ukraine to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of “XXX” on several occasions. Then he wrote, “He (Zelensky) is XXX, but we are XXX in Russia.” He added that “the West is prolonging the battle as long as possible to weaken Russia, even with victims, such as providing weapons to Ukraine and training soldiers.” Lavrov said he only wanted to say and disappeared from his seat, the Associated Press reported.

Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmitro Kuleva, said, “Russian diplomats are directly involved in war crimes, such as inciting crimes with lies.” “Putin’s announcement of the mobilization order is a declaration to the world that he is defeated,” Kuleva said. British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley called Lavrov’s remarks “distorted, dishonest and misinformed”. He went on to say that he did not want to hear the collective condemnation of the Security Council for Ravrov’s departure.

The five permanent members of the Security Council are the United States, China, Russia, France and the United Kingdom. The UN Security Council pushed for a vote on a resolution calling for the withdrawal of the Russian army that invaded Ukraine, but it was rejected due to Russia’s exercise of veto power, a permanent member of the country.
