New wave of Russian missiles destroys critical infrastructure in several Ukrainian cities, regional officials say

A new wave of Russian missiles struck critical infrastructure in Ukraine on Wednesday followingnoon, regional officials reported in posts on the Telegram messaging app.

In the Kyiv region, Governor Oleksii Kuleba said a “residential area and critical infrastructure facilities” had been hit. He warned residents to stay in shelters while the air raid warning was in effect.

The region’s police chief, Andriy Nebytov, said: “A multi-storey building was attacked in one of the communities in the Kyiv region. Started a fire. Police are working on the scene, helping to deal with the followingmath. I ask everyone to stay in the shelters. The threat of missile attacks continues.”

In the central region of Vinnytsia, Governor Serhii Borzov reported that “critical infrastructure facilities are under enemy fire.”

There are power outages in parts of Ukraine following attacks on critical infrastructure were reported.

Emergency power cuts have been introduced in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv following attacks on infrastructure facilities in the region, the country’s largest power supplier Yasno said in a statement. “Cutoff times are temporarily out of order until the situation stabilizes,” he said.

In southern Ukraine, the entire Odessa region is without electricity, Maksym Marchenko of the regional state administration reported on Telegram. “Due to the massive missile attack on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, there is temporarily no electricity supply in the Odessa region and other regions of Ukraine,” he said.

Power problems were also reported in the west as far as Lviv. “The whole city is without electricity,” said Mayor Andriy Sadovyi. “We are waiting for more information from energy specialists. There may be interruptions in the water supply. Stay in the shelters.”

Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said on Twitter that “a new massive attack on infrastructure facilities is underway. [ucranianas]”.
