In his New Year’s greetings, UN Secretary-General António Guterres calls for making 2024 a year of trust and hope. He also called for joining forces to find common solutions for climate action, economic prospects and a fair global financial system.
“Together, we must stand up once morest the discrimination and hatred that poison relations between countries and between communities. And we must ensure that new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, are a force for good,” he added.
The Secretary-General pledged that the UN would continue to mobilize the world for peace, sustainable development and human rights.
“Let us resolve to make 2024 a year marked by trust and hope to achieve everything we can accomplish together,” he concluded in his message of good wishes.
