The UN has expressed concern over Israel’s restrictions on humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The strict restrictions imposed by the Israel at the entrance of humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip and the potential use of hunger as a weapon may “constitute a war crime”, announced today UN.
“The extent of the restrictions imposed by Israel on the entry of aid into Gauzeand the manner in which it continues to conduct hostilities may amount to the use of starvation as a method of warfare, which is a war crime,” said Jeremy Lawrence, a spokesman for the High Commissioner for Human Rights, during a regular press briefing at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
According to newsit, Israel has denied that it is preventing humanitarian aid from entering the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, in Gaza, its Ministry of Health Hamas in the Palestinian enclave announced today that at least 31,819 Palestinians have been killed and 73,934 injured since October 7 during the Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
According to the same source, 93 Palestinians were killed and 142 wounded in the last 24 hours.
