THE Israeli REGIME systematically intercepts humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, Palestine. This is according to the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights (HAM) Volker Turk.
In his speech on Thursday (17/10), according to the UN website, Turk stressed the importance of monitoring early warning, prevention, responsibility and peace amidst ongoing violations of international law and widespread impunity.
“War if the causes are not addressed will spread to new combat zones,” he said.

He added that the prolonged oppression of the Palestinian people and repeated cycles of hatred, death and destruction in the Middle East are a tragic demonstration of this reality.
More than 42,000 Palestinians in Gaza were killed, most of them women and children, and nearly 1.9 million people were displaced by the relentless Israeli military onslaught.
“I cannot underscore enough the miserable survival conditions that Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing,” said Turk, who also noted that adequate humanitarian assistance is being systematically denied. (Ant/Z-2)
