Abu Dhabi: The rate of Umrah pilgrimage has been increased. There has been a 15 percent increase in the rate of pilgrims from the UAE.

The fare for going to Umrah by bus from UAE has increased from 1700 dirhams to 2000 dirhams. The previous fare was 3500 dirhams on the plane. Now it has increased to 4000 dirhams. It is reported that the rate may increase as Ramadan approaches.

Around 100 buses run Umrah services from UAE every week. Figures indicate that an average of 5000 people, including 50 people per bus, go for Umrah from the UAE. This includes expatriates of various nationalities including Malayalis. The documents required for Umrah pilgrimage are visa, passport, Covid PCR certificate if not vaccinated and yellow fever vaccination certificate. Passport should be valid for 6 months and UAE residence visa for 3 months.
