A Yemeni Umrah pilgrim who displayed a banner in the Haram Mosque in Makkah and shot a video was arrested. A foreigner was arrested for performing Umrah on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
He is the lawful resident of Iqama in the country. The video of the banner being displayed in the Haram in violation of the Umrah rules and regulations has been widely circulated on social media since last day. Dressed in Umrah attire, he displayed a banner in English and Arabic with words once morest the rules of Umrah. Display of banners and shouting slogans are strictly prohibited in Haram mosques. He was filming the video in violation of this.
He was arrested and handed over to the public prosecution for further proceedings. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, head of the Haram Office, said that the Mecca and Medina Haram Mosques are places of worship for God alone and are not places to raise slogans or banners that violate the regulations and directives. He admonished the believers to work with the sanctity and dignity of the Haram mosques and follow the regulations and instructions followed in the Harams.
