Umm Al-Khuwain Police Arrest Gang involved in Cannabis Cultivation and Drug Trafficking

Umm al-Khuwain ∙ The Anti-Narcotics Section of Umm Al-Khuwain Police General Command arrested an Asian gang who planted cannabis plants at their residence. Apart from cannabis cultivation, the group was also found to be involved in drug trafficking. Major Jamal Saeed Al Ketbi, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Division, said that the investigation was conducted following a tip-off regarding the cultivation and distribution of cannabis at the residence.

A special team was formed to investigate and plan to nab the accused and execute it. The Asian group was soon caught. Cannabis plant was found in the residence of the accused. The seized ganja and paraphernalia were handed over to the public prosecution for further legal action. It has not been revealed which country they belong to.

Major Jamal Saeed Al Ketbi said that this action is the importance of collective efforts to fight crimes that threaten the safety of society. He said that there is a great need to create security awareness among all members of the society and warned regarding the serious consequences of criminal activities. Umm Al Quwain Police Commander-in-Chief Major General Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Muala said that the role played by law enforcement agencies is crucial in combating the menace of narcotics.
