The Umano real estate project in Lévis is entering a significant phase, when the start of the construction of more than 700 new diversified housing units and the inauguration of new green spaces accessible to the general population are announced.

Umano is this vast $1.6 billion project being carried out in Lévis by Groupe CSB.

“We have reached a pivotal stage. We have 40% of the infrastructure work completed and 25% of the construction done. We are at the delivery stage,” said Stephen Boutin, President of the CSB Group.

Since the first sod of the ground, CSB’s vision of creating a structuring development center in Lévis has become more and more concrete.

So far, 1,025 units have been delivered out of 4,000. The end of the work is scheduled for 2032. Gradually, the neighborhood is coming to life with the arrival of new occupants.

“Yes, the pandemic has slowed the pace a bit, but roughly speaking we are still following the game plan,” he added.

Initially, Umano was a $900 million project with 2,500 units. Today, we are talking regarding a project worth $1.6 billion including 4,000 housing units to meet the different needs of a varied clientele. Over the next year, new rental units will be added, as well as 41 townhouses, rental homes, an affordable seniors’ residence and “all-inclusive” units for young professionals and students.

“The project has improved over time,” said Mr. Boutin, who is very proud of the results so far.

In total, Umano will have 950,000 square feet of commercial, office and institutional space and some 11 km of sidewalks and trails.

Still in the wake of this megaproject, the promoter inaugurated new green spaces on Wednesday, namely phase 1 of the Allée des Retrouvailles, as well as the Parc du Belvédère, as it had promised to do.
