Ultra Rumble shows gameplay and dates its Japanese beta

After the fighting games, the manga My Hero Academia give in to the Battle Royale trend with My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble, announced last week through Bandai Namco. The publisher is giving more details today, including a first gameplay video for the free-to-play, which will offer 24 people form teams of 3 characters to hope to be the last ones alive.

The list of the first playable characters

The title will therefore take us to what seems to be the land of the USJ of the academy, which is conducive to Battle Royale thanks to the different biomes it offers.

On this first trailer, we can see that the gameplay therefore seems to rely on ranged attacks with everyone’s Quirks (which we can use with the camera on our shoulder for some), which can be reinforced by collecting cards everywhere on the map. We also see the first playable characters, namely:

  • Deku
  • Bakugo
  • Shoto
  • Ochaco
  • Tsuyu
  • All Might
  • Shigaraki
  • Toga
  • Dabi
  • Mr. Compress
  • Mount Lady
  • Cementos

Another slightly larger gameplay video, visible below, allows you to see a match in real conditions. A beta will take place from February 2 to 6 on PS4, but unfortunately, it will only concern Japan.

My Hero Academia: Ultra Rumble will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
