The country overview
That’s why there is no uniform solution: individual countries began to develop plugs and sockets over 100 years ago. In the beginning, electricity was mainly used for lighting in houses. At that time, mobility was much less than today and the number of electrical devices used when traveling was very small. For this reason, no need was seen for every country to share the same plug and so each country developed its own plug system.
Today the Euro plug (Type C) is mostly used in Europe. The Switzerland However, together with Liechtenstein, they pulled the extra punch and created their own Connector type (Type J).
