With the continuous updating of e-sports screens, new screens with larger sizes, higher resolutions, ultra-wide 21:9, 32:9 and so on are released. AMD has also adjusted the certification requirements for FreeSync/Premium/Premium Pro. As long as it is FHD / QHD / WQHD screen refresh rate needs to be greater than 144Hz to pass FreeSync certification.
AMD FreeSync has more than 4,000 certified screens, including many products such as TVs, gaming screens, notebooks, and home computers, and FreeSync supports input signals such as DisplayPort and HDMI.
This also led AMD to decide to update the basic standards for FreeSync certification. Simply put, the level will be determined by horizontal resolution. If the horizontal resolution is less than 3440 and the update rate is greater than or equal to 144Hz, it will meet the certification threshold for FreeSync entry.
To get FreeSync Premium certification, the horizontal resolution must be less than 3440 and the update rate must be above 200Hz. If the horizontal resolution is greater than 3440, it can be certified as long as the update rate is greater than or equal to 120Hz. Finally, FreeSync Premium Pro is based on the above FreeSync Premium certification requires that the FreeSync HDR function be superimposed to be certified as FreeSync Premium Pro.
