MONROE, La. – The ULM men’s golf team plays in its fourth event of the fall at the Everett Buick/GMC Classic, hosted by Little Rock, Monday and Tuesday at Chenal Country Club Founder’s Course in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Warhawks will compete against Little Rock, Ball State, Boston College, Central Arkansas, Ragin’ Cajuns, Lamar, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, Troy, UT-Arlington, and UTEP.
ULM will be represented by seniors Michael Schmitt and Melan Dhaubhadel. junior Theis Poulsenand freshmen Louis Anceaux and Ylan Guerin Pozzalo. Senior Hayes Hamilton will compete as an individual.
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., the Founders Course opened with the Club in 1990. The course plays at 7,115 yards and has been ranked as “America’s top 100 Modern Golf Courses” by Golfweek magazine, and “#1 in Arkansas” by Golf Digest.
Schmitt is playing in his fourth tournament of the fall. He finished tied for 38th at the Graeme Mcdowell Invitational at Greyston Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama shooting 4-over-par 220 (74-73-73). He also finished tied for 19th at the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana, shooting 1-under-par 215 (74-70-71).
Poulsenalso playing in his fourth tournament, led ULM in third place at the Graeme Mcdowell Invitational with a 9-under-par 207. He recovered from a rough first round to finish at 9-over-par 225 (79-74-72) at the Argent Financial Classic in his previous outing.
Anceaux is playing in his fourth event as well. He tied for 44th at the Argent Financial Classic with a 4-over-par 220 (74-73-73). He also tied for fourth at the Graeme Mcdowell Invitational, shooting 8-under-par 208 (71-71-66).
Pozzalo is playing in his third tournament of the fall. He tied for 52nd at the Argent Financial Classic, shooting 5-over-par 221 (72-75-74). He tied for 12th at the Golfweek Collegiate Kickoff, shooting even par 216 (71-71-74).
Dhaubhadel will make his 2023-24 season debut at the Everett Buick/GMC Classic.
Hamilton will also be playing in his fourth tournament, and his second as an individual. He rounded out ULM’s golfers at the Graeme Mcdowell Invitational, shooting 7-over-par 223 (77-73-73). He also played as an individual at the Argent Financial Classic, tying for 23rd at even-par 216 (74-70-72).
