ULA suspends activities until further notice

In a virtual consultation and by absolute majority, the University Council (CU) of the University of Los Andes (ULA) agreed to suspend in-person academic activities, both undergraduate and graduate, as well as administrative activities, until further notice.
However, the measure has certain exceptions and is applied for the purpose of the 2024 Presidential Elections.

The decision was announced by means of a letter signed by the rector Mario Bonucci and the secretary Manuel Morocoima during the night hours of Monday, July 29.

The institutional statement is based on the fact that: “At this time, the conditions are not in place for members of the university community to return, in addition to the perceived situation of uncertainty that makes it difficult to carry out the university’s activities normally.”

They announced that if the opportunity arises, the aforementioned deliberative body will convene a face-to-face session and they also strongly urge the need to assume civic behavior marked by prudence and tolerance in difficult times.
It should be noted that the interruption of the Ulandina days in all the nuclei, faculties and extensions, by the CU, was also authorized on the 26th and 29th of this month.
