President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the successes of his country’s troops, which according to Ukrainian data have achieved near the destroyed city of Bakhmut. “Well done, warrior,” Zelenskyy said in a video message yesterday.
“We see how hysterically Russia reacts to every step we take there, to every position we take.” Zelenskyy said further, “the enemy knows that Ukraine will win”.
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malijar had previously announced that she would gain land near Bakhmut in the east of the country. The area around the city in the Donetsk region remains “the center of the fighting,” she said. “We’re advancing on a fairly broad front there. We achieve success (…). The enemy is on the defensive.”
Russia, on the other hand, announced that it had repelled a large-scale offensive by Ukraine in five areas of the front in southern Donetsk region.
