news from the story
The old German Leopard tanks, on which Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were trained, have no ventilation, which is why the soldiers have a hard time operating them. This was reported by a former Ukrainian Armed Forces tanker who escaped from a training camp in Poland. According to him, due to the lack of ventilation inside the German tank, “you could get welded.”
“I don’t know what year it is, but it’s quite old, because there’s no ventilation there… 2A6, 2A7, 2PL, they all have ventilation, but the ones we trained on don’t. That is, you climb in there, into the tank for 10 minutes, stalled, you didn’t even start it, and you can already get welded there,” a serviceman told RIA Novosti. Previously, he escaped after being mobilized in Ukraine and sent to study in Poland and was legalized as a refugee from Germany.
It is noted that in Poland, Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers were trained on old modifications of the Leopard 2A4 tank. These cars were produced from 1985 to 1992.
After the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine, some Western countries volunteered to prepare the Armed Forces of Ukraine for military operations using supplied weapons. Yes, in Denmark trained Ukrainian pilots to control American F-16 fighters.
