Given what happened, he wants to kill Russians.
The 28-year-old survivor, who had been a prisoner of the Russians for three months alongside another 25-year-old Ukrainian, has revealed the horrific experience was worse than hell following they were both castrated using a knife.
The man has now joined soldiers on the front line, according to psychologist Anzhelika Yatsenko, 41.
It was she who took charge of the two men when they were released as part of a prisoner exchange.
“He says we need him and it’s easier to be in a place where there are no women. I guess, given what happened, he wants to kill Russians,” she told the Sunday Times.
She also speculated that the soldier may feel like his life was worthless following the traumatic time he spent as a POW and may want to die.
When the psychologist began her work with the two men, she suspected that they had both been tortured because they were suicidal.
The youngest had even made a suicide attempt before they met.
For a month, the two soldiers mightn’t tell her what had happened, but when they did, she went to the bathroom and cried.
It was the most horrific story she had ever heard.
After violently beating the two Ukrainian soldiers, drunken Russians castrated them with a knife, reports the Sunday Times.
One of the victims said she didn’t know how they were still alive because of the amount of blood they had lost.
The Russians doubled down on their indignity telling them they were doing this so they mightn’t have children, which Ms Yatensko called genocide.
