Pune: A case has been filed once morest famous Ukrainian singer Uma Shanti for allegedly insulting India’s national flag. Uma Shanti allegedly insulted the Indian flag during a performance at a club in Pune’s Mundhwa on Sunday night. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, Havildar Tanaji Deshmukh registered an FIR at the Koregaon Park Police Station.
Senior Police Inspector Vishnu Tamhane confirmed that a case has been registered once morest Uma Shanti and organizer Karthik More. Uma Shanti is the lead singer of the Ukrainian band Shanti People. According to the FIR, Uma Shanti danced holding the tricolor flag in both hands and later threw the flags at the audience. On the India tour, Shanti People Band has already performed in Bengaluru and Bhopal last week. This is the second time that Uma Shanti is presenting the event in Pune following the one held in October 2022.

At the same time, the entire country is in the pride of celebrating the 77th Independence Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort.
