On May 25, the FSB announced the suppression of Ukrainian sabotage at two Russian nuclear power plants, including near St. Petersburg, before May 9.
On the eve of the celebration of the 78th anniversary of the Victory, a sabotage and terrorist group of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine attempted to undermine more than 30 pylons of high-voltage power lines of the Leningrad and Kalinin nuclear power plants, TASS reports citing the FSB public relations center.
“The terrorists managed to blow up one and mine four power lines of the Leningrad NPP and plant improvised explosive devices under seven power lines of the Kalinin NPP in the Tver region,” the publication says.
Two members of the group were detained, as well as two Russians – their accomplices. According to the FSB, they were recruited in September 2022. After that, they were trained in special camps in the Nikolaev and Kyiv regions of Ukraine, crossed through Poland to Belarus, and from there to Russia through the Pskov region.
