Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky fired Ukrainian ambassador to Britain Vadym Prystaiko on March 21, Agence France-Presse reported. British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace advised Zelensky to show “more appreciation” if he wanted the West to continue providing military aid. And Zelensky responded that he might personally thank Mr Wallace for the British military aid every morning. Prestar might criticize Zelensky’s comments as “slightly ironic”.
Zelensky signed an executive order to fire Prestako and posted the information on the website of the Ukrainian presidential palace, but did not explain why.
Prestar may have previously agreed with a British Sky News interviewer to advise Zelensky to respond to his “slightly ironic” response to Wallace.
“I don’t think the sarcasm is healthy. We don’t need to show the Russians something that’s going on between us, they have to know that we’ve been working together,” he said, stressing the need to ease relations with Britain. “If anything happens, Mr. Wallace can call me and tell me all his needs,” Prestacker said.
