And our victory will also be your victory,” Kuleba appealed today during a visit to the ZDF morning magazine.

At the same time, the Foreign Minister made it clear that although media attention for the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine has decreased, political support from partners in the West remains high. The West continues to give aid to Ukraine a “priority” alongside solidarity with Israel.

Kuleba thanked Germany for the anti-aircraft systems it has delivered so far to protect Ukrainian cities. At the same time, the country continues to hope that Germany will also supply long-range Taurus cruise missiles in the fight once morest the Russian war of aggression.

Ukraine is ready to adhere to demands not to use the weapons outside its borders once morest Russian territory, Kuleba said. At the beginning of October, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) decided not to deliver any Taurus cruise missiles for the time being.

He justified this by saying that Germany might be drawn into the war. The underlying fear is that Russian territory might also be hit by precision weapons with a range of 500 kilometers. Ukraine had already asked for the weapons in May so that it might attack Russian positions far behind the front line.

In the ZDF interview, Kuleba denied the question of whether there were negotiations behind closed doors between Moscow and Kiev to end the conflict. With a view to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s “peace formula”, he reiterated calls for Russian troops to be withdrawn from the country before possible negotiations begin.

As long as Russia sends more and more tanks and soldiers, it does not show Moscow’s willingness to negotiate with Kiev, the minister said. In addition to the withdrawal of Russian troops, Zelensky’s “peace formula” includes, among other things, the exchange of all prisoners and a war crimes tribunal.
