Ukrainian forces say they attacked Russian ‘training camp’ near Dnipro River in Kherson
Ukrainian forces said they attacked a “training camp” for Russian troops on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, near the key Krynky bridge, where Ukraine says it maintains positions despite Russian claims of some progress.
A video, showing regarding two dozen soldiers in a field fleeing following an explosion near them, was shared on the official Telegram channel of Ukraine’s Southern Command late on Wednesday. The apparent impact on the supposed “training camp” is shown, command spokeswoman Natalya Humenyuk said Thursday.
CNN was able to geolocate the images and it appears that the alleged “training camp” was located in Oleshky Sands, in the Kherson region, regarding 21 kilometers south of Krynky.
Context: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday that Russia was in control of the village. However, Ukraine denied his claim, calling it “manipulation and falsification of facts.”
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also stated this Thursday that Ukrainian forces remain on the Krynky bridge and that “the enemy might only carry out a disinformation campaign.”
Other points of the front line: In the Zaporizhia region, Ukraine said it had repelled eight Russian attacks west of Verbove and near Robotyne. The Ukrainian military has claimed that it inflicted heavy losses on Russian units attempting to advance beyond Robotyne. In the Marinka sector of the Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces continue to contain Russian forces in the area.
