Ukrainian first lady visits the United States… Speech to Congress and meeting with Jill Biden

Olena Zelenska, 44, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, visited Washington DC on the 18th (local time).

According to the Associated Press and other foreign media, Zelenska met with US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln on the same day.

State Department spokeswoman Ned Price said Secretary Blincoln reaffirmed to First Lady Zelenska the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine’s victory and emphasized support for Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction.

Price condemned Russia’s brutal attacks on civilians and praised Zelenska’s efforts to help Ukrainians affected by the war.

Zelenska also met with Samantha Power, director of the US Office of International Development, on the same day.

The Agency for International Development has provided billions of dollars to support the Ukrainian government and to address the humanitarian crisis.

First Lady Zelenska will meet with First Lady Jill Biden, wife of President Joe Biden, at the White House on the 19th.

It has been three months since Biden visited a village on the western border of Ukraine and met with him in May.

Zelenska will speak at the US Congress on the 20th of this month.

Her husband, President Zelensky, also appealed for support through a video speech at the US Congress on March 16, at the beginning of the war.
