Attacks and explosions
The Ukrainian Air Force said that the Russian army launched the Iranian-made “witness” drones from three different directions in Russia, targeting 11 different regions in central, northern and southern Ukraine.
The Air Force stated, in a statement on the Telegram application, that fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, and mobile drone strike groups repelled the Russian drone attack.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that Russian forces are targeting areas close to the city center.
He continued that anti-aircraft activities were intense in the Darnitsky area on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, and that explosions also occurred in the historic Podil area on the opposite bank.
The frequency of Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian cities and regions increased. Ukrainian officials say that Russia targets the country’s electricity and energy infrastructure before and during the harsh cold months, while Moscow denies this.
