The Ukrainian authorities want to expel up to 800,000 Russians from Crimea following its capture. This was stated by the representative of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Crimea Tamila Tasheva. She noted that this is the number of people who have arrived on the peninsula since 2014, and all of them will be subjected to “forced expulsion.”

“Up to 800,000 Russians have moved to Crimea since 2014. All those Russians who have entered will be subject to ‘forced expulsion’” — stated Tashev newspaper Newsweek. She also noted that Kyiv plans to blacklist regarding 10,000 Ukrainians for cooperation with the Russian Federation.

Formerly Zelensky repeatedly declared Kyiv’s desire to return Crimea to Ukraine. According to him, the Kyiv authorities are ready to negotiate with the Russian Federation if it comes to transferring Crimea to Ukraine. Head of the Legislation Committee of the Crimean Parliament Sergey Trofimov informedthat the Ukrainian leader needs to moderate his appetite for the peninsula.
