(Kyiv) The Ukrainian army has reconquered the village of Pyatykhatky, located on the southern front of the conflict with Russian forces, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

With this village, a total of “eight localities have been liberated” in two weeks, since the start of the counter-offensive, with 113 square kilometers of territory reconquered, said Deputy Minister of Defense, Ganna Maliar, on the networks social.
In the south, Ukrainian troops “advanced up to seven kilometers deep” from Russian positions, the official said.
Moscow keeps hammering that Ukraine’s ongoing offensive on the positions occupied by the Russians is a failure. Kyiv said last week that it had liberated seven settlements and 100 square kilometers, mainly on the southern front.
On the eastern front, “the general intensity of fighting has dropped over the past week” and the Ukrainian army “has advanced in several directions”, she assured without giving details.
The Ukrainian army also said it had shot down the four Kalibr-type missiles and the four Iranian-made explosive drones launched by Russia during the night.
The missile fires were carried out from a submarine in the Black Sea and those of drones from the eastern coast of the Sea of Azov.
According to military analysts, Ukraine has not yet launched the bulk of its forces in its counter-offensive, and is still currently testing the front to determine the weak points of the Russian defense.
