Ukraine has begun registering merchant vessels for passage through its own established sea corridors in the Black Sea. This was announced by the speaker of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Dmitry Pletenchuk.

“Everything will happen under the supervision of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. <…> Registration is already open [судов, проходящих через украинские коридоры], the coordinator is already working,” said Dmitry Pletenchuk during the telethon. His words are quoted by RBC-Ukraine. The speaker did not disclose how many ships were registered. He also does not know for how long the corridors will be open.

The creation of sea corridors by Ukraine was reported on August 10. According to representatives of the Ukrainian Navy, they will be used to exit civil courts from Ukrainian ports. The RF Ministry of Defense stressed that ships heading to Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea would potentially be considered as warships. Ukraine created sea corridors following the withdrawal of the Russian Federation from the grain deal.
