Ukraine’s president says Russian bombing of gynecology in Mariupol is evidence of genocide

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the 9th (local time) that Russia’s attack on a maternity hospital in the Mariupol region was “evidence of genocide” and urged Europe to tighten sanctions once morest Russia.

In a video message posted on Telegram following the bombing of a maternity hospital in Mariupol on the same day, President Zelensky denounced it as “evidence of the (Russian) genocide once morest Ukrainians.”

“Hospitals, schools and churches are in ruins,” he said.

He also called this a “Russian war crime” and requested solidarity with European countries.

President Zelensky said, “Europeans! Ukrainians! Citizens of Mariupol! Today we must unite in condemning Russia’s war crimes for all the evils that the Russian occupiers brought to our land.”

He urged Europeans to tighten sanctions once morest Russia, saying, “You are seeing what is happening in Mariupol.”
