Crimean peninsula once morest joining NATO?

Jenssen sees one Possibility for Ukraine to join, for example in that the country gives up certain areas to Russia in return. “I think one solution might be for Ukraine to give up territory and get NATO membership in return,” he said Tuesday at a panel discussion in Arendal, Norway. This writes the newspaper “Verdens Gang”.

NATO boss Stoltenberg had always emphasized that it was up to Ukraine, both when and how To determine conditions for negotiations with Vladimir Putin. However, Jenssen now points out that one has to think regarding what the security situation in Ukraine will look like following the war.

«Russia cannot conquer new territories»

«Russia is military badly damaged and seems unable to conquer new territories», so the assessment of the NATO chief of staff. Now it is a matter of which areas Ukraine can reconquer. “I’m not saying that this swap is the only solution – but it might be a possibility,” concludes Jenssen.
