According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 42 Ukrainian drones were intercepted over the Crimean peninsula on Friday morning. As the ministry announced, Russian armed forces destroyed the drones or crashed them in a controlled manner with the help of air defense files and electronic warfare systems. Meanwhile, Moscow’s Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports suspended air traffic early on Friday due to a missile alert.

The Russian news agency Tass reported in this context that the Russian military had intercepted a long-range missile from Ukraine over Russian territory. According to the army, Ukrainian troops repelled Russian attacks on several front sections on Thursday.

Air traffic at Moscow airports had already been briefly interrupted on Tuesday and Wednesday due to Ukrainian drone attacks. According to reports from the Russian online media portal Baza, residents of the Russian regions of Tula and Kaluga had previously reported on social media regarding explosions that they had heard during the night on Friday night.

The situation report of the General Staff in Kiev on the evening of the national holiday named the sections Kupjansk in the east of the country and Avdiivka north of the Russian-controlled city of Donetsk as part of the repelled Russian intercepts. At Marjinka, southwest of Donetsk, the Russians were on the offensive; but they managed to hold them back. The information was not independently verifiable.

The counter-offensive at Robotyne in the Zaporizhia region is continuing, and the positions that have been reached are being expanded. The deployment of Russian artillery and air force was reported from all sectors of the front.
