Ukraine: Two missiles hit kyiv during UN chief’s visit

Two projectiles hit this Thursday in Kiev (Ukraine) during the visit of the secretary general of the ONU, Anthony Guterresaccording to the mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitchkó.

“Tonight, the enemy fired on Kiev. There have been two hits in the Shevchenkivski district. All emergency services are on site. The information regarding possible victims is being clarified,” the councilor wrote on his Telegram channel.

President Volodimir Zelensky’s adviser, Mijailo Podoliak, also reported on the attack, stressing that the bombing took place during the visit of Guterres.

“The day before he was sitting at a long table in the Kremlin and today there are explosions above his head. A postcard from Moscow?” he wrote on his Twitter account.

“Remember why Russia still have a seat on the Security Council?”

Meeting with Zelensky

Guterres, who met with Zelensky today, stated that the ONU does “everything possible” to evacuate civilians from the Azovstal metallurgical plant in the Ukrainian city of Mariúpol, where regarding a thousand people remain refugees along with regarding 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

“We do everything to make it a reality. My first and only priority is the people who are suffering and who have to be rescued,” he told a news conference following meeting with the Ukrainian president.
