Ukraine struck a S-300/400 battery exterior Belgorod – ISW

“Since the US partially lifted restrictions for Ukraine on assaults with American weapons on army targets in Russian border areas close to the Kharkov area, the Russian military has more and more claimed that the Ukrainian military is firing HIMARS within the Belgorod area,” ISW notes.

The first supply of details regarding the profitable strike on the anti-aircraft missile battery was the pro-Ukrainian telegram channel “Spy File,” which revealed photographs and movies of the burning battery. One other Ukrainian Telegram channel geolocated the photographs to the outskirts of the village of Kiselevo close to Belgorod, and Russian army bloggers not directly confirmed the strike, reporting – maybe just by trying on the photographs – that two S-400 launchers and a tractor had been destroyed.

All this was fairly broadly mentioned and coated all through Monday.

Kiselevo is situated 12 km north-northeast of Belgorod, 80 km from Kharkov and 50 km from the closest level of Ukrainian-controlled territory.

ISW, following army observers on each side, means that the strike was carried out by a GMLRS missile from HIMARS, since Kisilevo is inside their vary and different methods out there to Ukraine might not have reached that far.

On the similar time, because the authors of the report imagine, “Russian sources will almost certainly proceed to name any profitable strike on the Belgorod area a strike from HIMARS, no matter what system was really used.”

The Russian military consistently assaults Kharkov with reprogrammed anti-aircraft missiles from S-300 launchers.
