Can Vladimir Putin’s regime no longer even defend Russia deep within the country? The Ukrainians allegedly manage to strike the Russian arms industry in Siberia.

Krasnoyarsk – Can Kremlin autocrat Vladimir Putin no longer guarantee Russia security once morest Ukrainian attacks? Because Kiev’s attack drones in the Ukraine war can now fly into the deepest interior of its country and/or there are saboteurs on the way? A number of examples point to this at the end of January.

Attacks on Russia: Ukraine allegedly succeeds in attack in deepest Siberia

An example: Like the Ukrainian station Suspilne citing the SBU secret service, a large fuel depot in Russia from which Moscow’s troops on the front in Ukraine are supplied was attacked on Thursday night (January 25th). The information cannot be independently verified.

At X (formerly Twitter). shared at least one video, according to which the attack on an oil refinery in Tuapse on the Russian Black Sea coast in Krasnodar Oblast is said to have occurred. According to the well-known Ukrainian military blogger Igor Sushko, another attack occurred at the same time much deeper inland – in Siberia.

Near Krasnoyarsk in Russia: Ukraine distributes video of alleged attack in Siberia

“A factory is burning in Yelovoye near Krasnoyarsk,” Sushko wrote on the social network, posting a video of what appeared to be commercial buildings heavily ablaze. The location and time of the recordings cannot be verified. What is known is that since the outbreak of the war, Sushko has been receiving video material that presumably comes from the Ukrainian armed forces.

Striking: The city of Krasnoyarsk, with around 970,000 inhabitants, is located in the Siberian Federal District in the south-central part of the Russian Federation. From here it is around 3,800 kilometers to Ukrainian-controlled territory in Ukraine. It remains completely unclear what is supposed to be responsible for the fire. Apparently it is a factory related to the Russian defense industry.

Drone or sabotage? Guessing regarding a Ukrainian attack in deepest Russia

The fact is: The Ukrainians have continued to develop their drones in recent months – especially with regard to their range. Kiev recently reported a militarily successful drone attack on the Russian region of Leningrad on the Baltic Sea, which is why Putin’s regime probably had S-300 anti-aircraft systems set up around the metropolis of St. Petersburg. According to Ukrainian Industry Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin, the drone used in this attack flew “1250 kilometers”.

What’s behind it? In mid-January, a video made the rounds among Ukrainian military bloggers that purported to show a new type of rocket-propelled attack drone (see video below). This is said to make much greater distances possible than before. While the Ukrainian army has not issued a statement regarding the drone, incidents of suspected sabotage once morest the Russian war economy are increasing, which Norway’s commander and NATO military officer Eirik Kristoffersen has now warned regarding.

Siberia in Russia: Vladimir Putin likes to vacation in the taiga

Like the news site, for example Newsweek reported that in mid-November there was an incident at a Russian gunpowder factory in the city of Kotovsk, almost 500 kilometers south of Moscow. Were this fire and the flames near Krasnoyarsk each a case of sabotage? The speculation continues. In any case, it is said that Siberia means a lot to Putin.

The autocratic ruler often vacations here. In 2013 and 2016, the Kremlin ruler presented himself in a macho pose in the middle of the natural landscape and the coniferous forests of the Siberian taiga, shirtless at the wheel of a motorboat or with a fishing rod in his hand. Significant: There were loud noises during the economic forum in Saint Petersburg Stern introduced new travel routes through the vast Russian Federation in June 2022. One of them is called “Siberian Holidays” and leads to Vladimir Putin’s vacation spots. (pm)
