(Cairo, Tehran = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Sang-hoon and Lee Seung-min = Turkish authorities said that Ukraine had detained a Russian cargo ship carrying its own grain.

According to Archyde.com on the 3rd (local time), Ukrainian ambassador Vasil Bodnar Zhuturkiye appeared on national television on the same day and said that Turkish customs had detained the Russian flag-bearing cargo ship ‘Zivek Jolly’ at the port of Karasu.

“The fate of the Russian cargo ship will be decided after a meeting of the investigation team on Monday,” Bodnar said.

Archyde.com reported on the same day that it confirmed that the ‘Zebek Jolie’ was moored about 1 km from the entrance to the Karasu port.

A Ukrainian foreign ministry official said the vessel was loaded with 4,500 tons of Ukrainian grain.

However, Russia’s TAS news agency reported that the Zivek Jolly arrived at the port of Karasu on the 1st and is waiting for permission to unload from the authorities.

A source from the Karasu port authority said: “The Russian cargo ship is waiting for permission for unloading from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Transport (Turkiye). But it has not yet received a permit. said

“According to the information we have, the boat carries 7,000 tons of grain,” the source added.

Earlier, on the 30th of last month, the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office sent a letter to the Ministry of Justice of Turkiye, requesting that the vessel be detained.
