Russia is according to its President Wladimir Putin ready to negotiate with all parties involved in the Ukraine conflict. However, the leadership in Kyiv and its Western supporters have refused talks, Putin said in an interview on state television. In Ukraine, the authorities have given the all-clear for all regions of Ukraine following an air alert was triggered on Sunday morning.
In the TV interview, Putin said: “We are ready to negotiate acceptable solutions with all parties involved, but that is up to them – we are not the ones who refuse to negotiate, they are.” Russia’s president was convinced of his course. “I believe we are moving in the right direction. We are defending our national interests, the interests of our citizens, our people. And we have no choice but to protect our citizens.”
