UKRAINE wants air defense support from its allied countries. Kyiv reflects on the United States (US) air defense assistance which protects Israel from Iranian attacks.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba also asked the US and its allies to provide air defense support like that received by Israel. The US was able to repel drone and missile attacks by Iran targeting Israel.
“When we talk regarding repelling missile attacks and drone attacks once morest Israel, I can only say that, in fact, the joint efforts of Israel and its allies, who are also our allies, were very successful,” Kuleba said at a joint press conference with his counterparts from Norwegian Espen Barth Eide in Kyiv.
He then asked his allies for help for his own country. According to him Ukraine does not need direct US intervention like in Israel.
“Just give us what it takes, and we’ll handle the rest ourselves,” he said.
Speaking alongside Kuleba, Eide promised to increase Ukraine’s air capabilities by donating F-16 fighter jets.

“We are pleased to be able to contribute to this F-16 fighter jet program, where we will donate Norwegian F-16s that have been upgraded and are in good condition together with Denmark and the Netherlands,” he said.
Eide pointed to ongoing pilot training and potential future support. That is to increase Ukraine’s capacity to carry out deeper Russian attacks.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring the F-16 is equipped with modern weaponry to maximize its effectiveness. (Anadolu/Z-3)
