Astana (Kazakhstan) ∙ Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he is ready to discuss the issue of Ukraine. He said that if Ukraine agrees, it will agree to the mediation of world countries.
Putin accused India and China of supporting peaceful talks, but Ukraine is not yet ready for it. For the first time in the 8-month long war, Putin has softened his stance. The response was given at a press conference held following the CICA summit, which is an association of 27 Asian countries including India, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Putin has warned that NATO, a military alliance that includes the US and European countries, might lead to a global catastrophe if it collides with Russia. He said that there is no need to regret Russia’s actions in Ukraine and that Russia’s goal is not to annihilate Ukraine.
