Kyiv: After the Russian attack, for the first time a minister from Ukraine is visiting India. It is being told that Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova is coming on a visit to India next week. Ukrainian Minister Imine is coming to India at a time when India’s trade with Moscow has continuously reached new heights. It is believed that during this time Imine will present her side on the ongoing war with Russia. India has adopted a neutral stand in this war that has been going on for more than a year. Pakistan is earning money by exporting weapons on a large scale to Ukraine, on which India is keeping a close watch. India has repeatedly asserted that peace and dialogue is the way forward. The Ukrainian minister will participate in the event along with two leading think tanks of India. India has been providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine since last year. So far 10 consignments of relief material have been sent. This aid has many essential medicines and medical equipment.

Keeping a close eye on the developments in India

Ukraine recalled its ambassador last year and so far no new ambassador has been appointed. PM Modi had a telephonic conversation with the President of Ukraine. Meanwhile, India’s enemy Pakistan is making huge money by providing arms and ammunition to Ukraine through western countries. India is keeping a close watch on this whole development. This week India abstained from voting in the United Nations Human Rights Council. In this, there was a proposal to extend the investigation of war crimes for one year.

This proposal was somehow passed in which 28 countries had approved the proposal. At the same time, 17 countries including India remained absent from this proposal. Only two countries stayed away from this proposal. In the last two weeks, India has hosted several top Russian officials and ministers. India and Russia have entered into a long term energy agreement. That too when the trade between the two countries has crossed $40 billion. Not only this, several meetings have been held in the last two weeks to further increase this business. The President of Russia has emphasized on strengthening relations with India in his new foreign policy.
