The Ukrainian president arrived this Saturday morning in Japan for a surprise participation in the G7 summit where he will notably meet his American counterpart Joe Biden, who paved the way last night for a future delivery of combat aircraft so demanded by the ‘Ukraine. This decision to allow other countries to supply Ukraine with American-made F-16s was described by Volodymyr Zelensky as “of history“.
The Ukrainian president will take part in meetings on Sunday with the leaders of the G7 and other countries invited to the summit, the Japanese foreign ministry confirmed.
Last night, Russia renewed its airstrikes on the Ukrainian capital. Authorities reported falling debris in three districts of kyiv and a fire on the roof of a residential building. Explosions were also reported in Chernihiv, northeast of Kiev, and Mariupol, in the southeast of the country where the airport was hit on Friday evening according to the Russian news agency TASS on the basis of local authorities.
