The Ukrainian national team returns to the semi-finals of the Futsal World Cup 28 years later – the previous precedent was in 1996 in Spain – by beating Venezuela 9-4 on Sunday, so next Wednesday they will meet with Brazil, who won to Morocco 3-1, for a place in the final of Uzbekistan 2024.
Ukraine, which only lost one game in Uzbekistan and it was in its debut in the group stage against Argentina (7-1), clearly beat Venezuela, which was not the solid team that stopped Spain in the round of 16 of the Futsal World Cup.
The European team was superior to the ‘vinotinto’, but went through bad moments in the first half, since in the blink of an eye it went from 3-1 to 3-3, although it recovered in the final stretch of this period and acquired a two-goal advantage (5-3).
