On Sunday, August 8, at 21:00 Kyiv time, the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paralympics began in Paris at the Stade de France stadium.
Athletes representing Ukraine won 82 medals. 140 athletes competed in 17 sports from our national team at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
The national flag of Ukraine will be carried by swimmer Oleksandr Komarov during the event.

Celebrations at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paralympics
The closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games in Paris will include a parade of 4,400 athletes who participated in the Games, as well as the famous relay between the capital and Los Angeles. After the ceremony, there will be an electro concert with about twenty French performers.

Ukrainian medalists of the 2024 Paralympics
At the start of the 2024 Paralympics
Anton Kol brought the first medal for Ukraine. The man finished second in the 100m backstroke in the S1 class. She received the second prize Iryna Poida. The athlete won “silver” at the distance of 200 meters freestyle in class S5. Swimmer Anna Gontar took “bronze” at the distance of 50 meters freestyle in class S6. He won another “bronze”. Vladyslav Bely won a silver medal in athletics. He threw the javelin at 52.86 m. Oleksandr Komarov became the winner of swimming at the distance of 100 meters freestyle in class S5. It was he who earned the first “gold” for our country at the 2024 Paralympic Games. Iryna Poida once again became a silver medalist. She finished second in the 100m freestyle final. Natalia Kobzar became the owner of “silver” in the 200-meter race.
On the third day of the competition
swimming Anna Stetsenko won two medals at once: silver in the 100-meter backstroke and bronze in the 400-meter freestyle. swimmers Yaroslav Denysenko (100 meters on the back), Anton Kol (50 meters on the backstroke) and Marina Piddubna (50 meters freestyle) took “bronze”. Athlete Volodymyr Ponomarenko took second place in the shot put, and his colleague Roman Danyliuk – the third. Two Ukrainian swimmers conquered the distance of 200 meters in a complex style. Andriy Trusov took “silver”, a Yevhenii Bohodayko — “bronze”. Tennis players Viktor Didukh and Iryna Shinkaryova won “bronze” in the mixed doubles competition in table tennis. Oleksandr Yarovy won “gold” in the shot put (class F20). His colleague Maxim Koval has “bronze” in the same competition. Natalia Kobzar took “gold” in the 400-meter run in the T37 class. Olena Fedota-Isaeva became a bronze medalist in the saber fencing tournament (category B). This medal is the first for Ukraine in wheelchair fencing.
The seventh day at the 2024 Paralympics
was remembered, in particular, by another double podium in swimming at the 2024 Paralympics. In 100-meter freestyle swimming (class S12) Yaroslav Denysenko finished in first place, and Maxim Veraksa – on the second. Swimmer Andriy Trusov took “gold” at the distance of 50 meters freestyle. The athlete set a new world record — 26.38 seconds. Anna Stetsenko won a silver medal in the 100-meter freestyle. The Ukrainian national team also became the champion in the mixed 4Ă—100 meter freestyle relay. This is an achievement Maryna Poddubna, Oleksiy Virchenko, Yaroslav Denysenko and Anna Stetsenko. Core pusher in class F32 Anastasia Moskalenko won “gold” and renewed the world record – 8.00 meters for the second time in four pushes. On the eighth day of the competition
Pavlo Bal won a bronze medal during the H5 class handbike road race. In judo Natalia Nikolaychyk won “gold” (weight category up to 48 kg, class J1). At the same time, they have bronze Angela Havrysiuk in the weight category up to 57 kg in the same class and David Horava (weight category up to 60 kg, class J2). In goalball, the men’s national team won silver. The team includes Vasyl Oliynyk, Anton Strelchuk, Fedir Sydorenko, Evgeny Tsyganenko, Rodion Zhigalin, Oleksandr Toporkov. At sea Danilo Chufarov overcame the distance of 100 meters in the SB11 breaststroke in the third place. Anna Gontar, Yaroslav Semenenko, Iryna Poida and Oleksandr Komarov as part of the national team of Ukraine won bronze awards in the 4Ă—50 mixed relay in complex swimming. Track and field athlete Maria Pomazan won a gold medal in the F35 class shot put competition. Oksana Boturchuk was able to win “silver” in the 100 m run of the T12 class.
On the ninth day

On the tenth day at the 2024 Paralympics

China has become the leader in the medal tally of the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. Great Britain took second place. The third is the US national team. Ukraine finished in seventh place. Our team entered the “top ten” for the sixth time.
