Today, Saturday, Ukraine announced more successes in its counter-offensive aimed at regaining areas and territories controlled by Russia.
And the local intelligence service (SBC) published pictures via the Telegram application, showing its units in the strategically important town of Kobyansk, which was controlled by Russian forces until now.
Ukrainian media also published a picture this morning, Saturday morning, showing several soldiers, saying they are members of the Ukrainian army, raising the Ukrainian flag in the heart of Kobyansk.
Because of the direct railway from Kobyansk to Russia, this town, northeast of Kharkiv, is important as a transportation hub for delivering supplies to Russian forces.
The Ukrainian army also confirmed that it was advancing “tens of kilometers” on the southern front lines. A local official also published a separate photo of Ukrainian soldiers in the Ukrainian town, which has a population of regarding 27,000, and wrote, “Kobiansk is Ukraine.”
This new important progress announced by the Ukrainian forces comes following Kyiv said that it had regained control of thirty towns in the Kharkiv region bordering Russia in recent days.
The town of Kobyansk, 120 kilometers southeast of Kharkiv, fell to the Russians less than a week following the start of the Russian military operation.
On the other hand, Natalia Guminok, a spokeswoman for the Southern Command of the Ukrainian army, told local media, “Our soldiers are advancing along the southern front lines in various sectors, from two kilometers to tens of kilometers.”
