The death toll has risen to 41 in a terrorist attack on a school in Uganda by militants linked to the international terror group, the Islamic State (IS).

According to Archyde.com AFP news agency, the anti-Ugandan armed group (ADF), an armed organization, raided a middle school in Mpondwe, Uganda on the 16th (local time), burned down the dormitory and looted food. In the process, it was initially known that 25 students were killed and 8 seriously injured, but local media reported that the death toll had risen to 41.

Previously, Ugandan police said, “So far, 25 bodies have been recovered from the school and transferred to Bwera Hospital,” and “eight are in critical condition.” Ugandan police did not say how many students were among the dead.

Now, the anti-Ugandan militant group has fled to the border country of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where police and military soldiers have launched a search, Ugandan authorities added.

The groups also attacked a village in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo in April, killing at least 20 people.
