The general director of Ufa, Shamil Gazizov, resigned following the relegation of the team from the First League to the Second, reported club press office.

“At the completed meeting of the founders of FC Ufa, the resignation of General Director Shamil Gazizov was accepted today,” the report says.

Ufa finished 16th in the First League, falling into the relegation zone.

Back in the 2021/22 season, the Ufa club played in the RPL, but dropped out of the tournament following the play-offs.

Ufa, which played in the RPL last season, was relegated to the Second League

In mid-May, Ufa announced the threat of losing their professional status due to the lack of a budget and guarantees for the next season.

Gazizov has been at Ufa since 2012 with a break to work at Spartak from July to December 2020. After leaving the Moscow club, he began several legal battles with the Red-Whites over compensation.
