Uemoa: cooperation agreement between La Francophonie and BOAD to support digital transformation

The Secretary General of La Francophonie Louise Mushikiwabo and Serge Ekue, President of the West African Development Bank (BOAD) yesterday signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement allowing the two Organizations to combine their efforts to support digital transformation in the 8 countries of WAEMU.

This Framework Agreement will enable BOAD to design a financial vehicle mobilizing several tens of millions of € for the benefit of the populations, in particular young people and women, to enable them to follow training under the DCLIC program.

Since its launch in January 2022 DCLIC has set up 57 professional training courses in digital professions in 10 French-speaking African countries and will offer tools from 2023 aimed at introducing digital technology to people furthest from this reality.
